2011 Christmas Tree Season

Our 2011 Christmas tree season is a wrap! However, we have three beautiful balsam fir precuts left. They are 6 - 7 feet tall and are still very fresh. I have marked them down over 40% to $25.00 (taxes included). So if you haven't picked up a tree yet, don't delay and give us a call before they are all gone!

We would like to thank everyone who came to the farm and our helping hands for our best year ever. We met so many neighbors and people from all over the City of Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough County. We had people from Nova Scotia, some who were visiting from the U.S.A. as well as from parts of Europe! Of course we were very happy to see many returning faces and so many that promised we will see them again next year. We are looking forward to next year and will be working very hard all year to put together an even better year for 2012.

Don't forget to check back here for updates throughout the year as we are looking at putting together some activities during rest of the season. Potash Creek Farms hosts I.E. Weldon Secondary School

On December 16th we will be hosting Bill Morrow and Christy O'Neill's PALS class from I.E. Weldon Secondary School. This will be the third year that Potash Creek Farms has hosted students from Weldon. What a great tradition we are building! They usually get a large tree and put it up in the cafeteria to share with all. See you all soon... it will be fun to see you all again this year and enjoy the candy cane hunt!

Offering Great New Things This Weekend!

Note: this post originally posted on 8/12/2011 - we currently are not offering baked beans and we do not have any precuts for 2012.

This weekend, for the first time, we will be selling pre-cut trees to offer more choice and for those that are not up for trek through the field and the hauling back to your vehicle. The pre-cuts will be balsam fir and will be in the 5 - 7 foot range. All pre-cuts will be $45 including taxes. There are still lots of Norway and white spruce out in the field for cut-your-own.
Also, we will be introducing home made BBQ baked beans for those hungry bellies after hauling your tree in! Sit by the open fire and enjoy a bowl of beans and hot cocoa... it doesn't get any better! A serving of beans will be $3 or 4 servings for $10 so bring some extra change and top up before heading home. You will need the energy to set up the tree!

And of course, we have SNOW! There is a cover of white snow all over at the time of this post and the forecast suggests we will get another fresh dusting. Perfect for a tree hunt!

A couple more reminders:

We accept cash and check only for sales at the farm.

We still have some fresh hand made wreaths. We have had many compliments this year, thank you! Only $25.00 including taxes.

Here are a couple of fresh photos of the farm with the snow we received this week.

Growing more for you!

Typical Norway spruce - about a 20 foot tree!
